Server Array: RESIN.CSOFT.NET

resin.csoft.net is a redundant, load-balanced array of AMD64 architecture servers running the excellent OpenBSD operating system.

The servers in this array use AMD Opteron processors, TYAN motherboards, low-latency memory, gigabit ethernet and Hi/fn 7955 cryptographic accelerators.

Data is mirrored from the master to the backup servers over a dedicated network interface once a day, at 01:00 AM EST. Fault-tolerance of the servers, router and firewall systems is implemented using the CARP (Common Address Redundancy Protocol).

History

Old-time users (1997-2001) were originally hosted at our first installation in Oklahoma City, OK on a server named SMOKE.CSOFT.NET. They were transferred to our network in Atlanta on June 1st, 2001 on a server named RESIN.CSOFT.NET. On February 2006, accounts were transferred from the single server to a redundant array of servers at our new data center.
